Some moments in life feel like pure blessings. Standing beside our longtime friend Richie and his beloved Sarah as they exchanged vows was one of those moments. Richie has been a dear friend for many years—a gifted farmer and musician whose hands and heart are always in service to the land and community. Sarah is a radiant new presence in our lives, a powerful writer, activist, and schoolteacher with a spirit rooted in compassion. Together, they form a partnership full of strength, purpose, and deep love. We have no doubt they will help many, many people in their journey together.
During the ceremony, they blessed the water with their prayers and highest intentions, then poured it into the sea as an offering—merging their hopes with the vastness of the ocean.
Their ceremony took place at a private oceanfront home—simple, beautiful, and infused with spirit. It was an intimate gathering with just two guests, yet every detail carried deep intention. We began with the sounding of the pū (kani ka pū), calling the moment into being. Sarah read a prayer she had written, asking for blessings over their union, and Jeremy offered words about growing love—how it takes care, patience, and daily tending, just like anything we hope will thrive.
During the ceremony, they blessed the water with their prayers and highest intentions, then poured it into the sea as an offering—merging their hopes with the vastness of the ocean. Their vows followed—personal, sincere, and rooted in their commitment to walk this path together. Aimee sang an a cappella song about sacred union and family, her voice lifting into the ocean breeze and filling the moment with grace. It was powerful and deeply moving.
This ceremony was a private beginning, but not the end. Richie and Sarah plan to celebrate with a larger circle of loved ones in the near future. For now, we are simply honored to have shared this sacred moment with them—a couple whose love is already growing something beautiful.
